Biography (read more)

Alice Sara Ott is a German pianist born in 1988 who began piano lessons at four and studied from age twelve at the Salzburg Mozarteum under Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. She won early recognition including the Most Promising Artist award at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (2002) as its youngest finalist and first prizes at the Bach Competition in Köthen and the Pianello Val Tidone Competition.

Recording exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon since her debut disc, Ott has built a wide-ranging discography spanning Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven, Grieg, and a genre-crossing collaboration with Ólafur Arnalds, most recently releasing a complete John Field Nocturnes album. In 2019 she publicly disclosed her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis, and she continues to perform internationally as one of the more prominent pianists of her generation.
