Alfonso Ferrabosco the younger (c. 1575 – buried 11 March 1628) was an English composer and viol player of Italian descent, born at Greenwich as the illegitimate son of the elder Alfonso Ferrabosco. He entered royal service under James I, became music teacher to the Prince of Wales in 1604, and collaborated closely with Ben Jonson on court masques, including The Masque of Blackness (1605).
His 1609 collection of Ayres, which set poems by John Donne and Thomas Campion alongside his own lute and viol music, made him one of the leading English song composers of the Jacobean era, straddling the line between the Renaissance and early Baroque.
