Huw Montague Rendall is a British baritone, the son of mezzo-soprano Diana Montague and tenor David Rendall, trained at the Royal College of Music under Russell Smythe. In summer 2016 he was a Jerwood Young Artist with Glyndebourne Festival Opera, where he sang Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia and won the John Christie Award; the following year he joined the Salzburg Festival’s Young Artists Programme and became a member of the International Opera Studio in Zürich (2016–2018).
Winner of Best Newcomer at the 2024 Oper! Awards, Montague Rendall has appeared on stages including the Salzburg Festival, Zurich Opera, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Komische Oper Berlin, and Glyndebourne; his 2024 debut solo album Contemplation (Warner Classics/Erato) won the Voice and Ensemble category at the 2025 Gramophone Classical Music Awards.
