Emőke Baráth (born 21 November 1985) is a Hungarian soprano. She trained first in piano and cello in Gödöllő before turning to voice, studying under József Hormai and later at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest under Júlia Pászthy, with a further year at the Conservatorio di Firenze under Leonardo De Lisi. In 2011 she won first prize at the International Singing Competition for Baroque Opera in Innsbruck and the Grand Prix at the Verbier Festival Academy, launching an international career centred on Baroque and early opera repertoire; she signed an exclusive contract with Erato in 2018.
Baráth has become one of the leading interpreters of 17th- and 18th-century operatic repertoire, celebrated in particular for Cavalli title roles such as Elena (with Leonardo García Alarcón, 2013) and Hipermestra (at Glyndebourne under William Christie, 2017). Her Handel recordings, including collaborations with countertenor and conductor Philippe Jaroussky and his ensemble Artaserse, have helped bring rediscovered Baroque opera seria arias to modern audiences.
