Cristina Galietto was born in 2000 in Naples, Italy, and learned her first notes on guitar from her father Alberto before any formal schooling. At ten she entered the Conservatory “San Pietro a Majella” in Naples, later completing her studies between that conservatory and the Domenico Cimarosa Conservatory in Avellino in the class of Lucio Matarazzo, graduating with honours. She holds two master’s degrees in classical guitar and has pursued a third at the Kunstuniversität Graz in the classes of Paolo Pegoraro and Łukasz Kuropaczewski.

Galietto’s competition record includes wins at the “Alexis Rago” competition in Stuttgart, the “Andrés Segovia” competition in Monheim am Rhein, a competition in Uppsala, and the EuroStrings competition in 2021 at Petrer, Spain, alongside the “Golden Guitar” at the International Guitar Meeting in Milan the same year. She has given solo concerts across Germany, Serbia, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, the UK and Italy, with a repertoire spanning Renaissance to contemporary music.
