Yusif Eyvazov was born on May 2, 1977, in Algiers and holds Azerbaijani citizenship. He originally trained in meteorology before turning to music, studying at the Baku Music Academy and, from 1997, receiving further vocal training in Italy under Franco Corelli and Ghena Dimitrova.
Eyvazov made his Bolshoi Theatre debut as Cavaradossi in 2010 and his Metropolitan Opera debut as Calàf in Turandot in 2015, followed by debuts at the Paris Opera, Berlin State Opera, Mariinsky Theatre, Vienna State Opera, and the Salzburg Festival (2016, as Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut).
