Biography (read more)
Roberto Prosseda was born in Latina in 1975, studied at the Respighi Conservatory and then at Imola with Lonquich, Petrushansky and Scala, and at Cadenabbia with teachers from Fleisher and Charles Rosen to Karl Ulrich Schnabel and Fou Ts’ong. Prizes at the Micheli and Schubert competitions opened a recording career of unusual curiosity.
Prosseda is the modern advocate of unknown Mendelssohn — he premiered and recorded dozens of unpublished pieces — and has extended the same curiosity to Gounod’s pedal-piano concertos and to Mozart played on period instruments. His rows widen this catalogue’s repertoire precisely where the standard discography stops.
