Julius Asal was born on 12 February 1997 in Germany and trained at Dr. Hoch’s Konservatorium and the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt, before studying with Eldar Nebolsin at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin (2017–2022) and with András Schiff at the Kronberg Academy (2021–2024). He has also received guidance from Alfred Brendel, Richard Goode, and Menahem Pressler.

Asal signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon in 2023 and has released three acclaimed albums exploring Prokofiev, Scriabin/Scarlatti, and his own “Siena Tapes” project, known for innovative cross-century programming with improvisational transitions. He is a current BBC New Generation Artist (2024–26), won the Terence Judd-Hallé Award (2025), was named a Classic FM Rising Star (2024), and won the Young Concert Artists European Auditions First Prize in 2017, performing at venues including Wigmore Hall, the Vienna Musikverein, and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
