Biography (read more)
José Viñas was a 19th-century Spanish guitarist and composer. Little independent biographical documentation of him survives today; he appears mainly in passing references in histories of the Spanish guitar as a contemporary of Francisco Tárrega and Julián Arcas.
His short salon-style pieces, such as “Andante Sentimental,” survive as modest additions to the 19th-century Spanish guitar repertoire.
