Ida Presti (1924–1967) was a French classical guitarist and composer, born in Suresnes. A child prodigy, she gave her first public recital at the age of ten and toured internationally as a soloist while still a teenager. In 1952 she married guitarist Alexandre Lagoya, and together they formed the Presti-Lagoya Duo, one of the most celebrated guitar duos of the twentieth century, until her sudden death in 1967 following heart surgery at age 42.

Presti was widely regarded as one of the outstanding guitar virtuosos of her generation — guitarist Alice Artzt called her “the greatest guitarist of the 20th century, and possibly of all time.” Beyond her celebrated duo repertoire with Lagoya, she composed original solo works for the instrument that remain part of the concert repertoire.
