Cinzia Milani was born in Varese, Italy, in 1984. She began studying classical guitar at a very young age and graduated from the Conservatorio “A. Boito” in Parma at eighteen, going on to develop her technique with Mauro Storti and study interpretation with Argentine composer Oscar Roberto Casares. As a child she won the international competition of Milan at age five, received the “Ambrogino d’oro” from the Municipality of Milan at seven, won the Trofeo Beniamino Gigli in Recanati at ten with a perfect score, and received the Premio F. Margola in Parma in 1991.
Milani began her concert career at twelve and has since performed worldwide, including extensive touring in Canada and the United States and masterclasses at the Royal Conservatory of Toronto. Her CD “Ritratto di Donna” was broadcast on Italian, French, German, and Japanese national television, and she has performed as guitarist, dancer, and singer in the Argentine show “Sonatango.” A committed advocate for women composers, she has recorded a full album dedicated to the music of María Luisa Anido.
