Georgijs Osokins was born in Riga, Latvia, in 1995 into a musical family (his father is pianist Sergejs Osokins) and studied at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School before continuing with Sergei Babayan at Juilliard and Georg Friedrich Schenck at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf. He gained wide attention by reaching the final round of the 2015 Chopin Competition at age 19, and has since received mentorship from Gidon Kremer, Daniel Barenboim, and Christoph Eschenbach.

Osokins has been described by critics for his individualistic, richly colored pianism reminiscent of the piano’s Golden Age masters, and is considered a leading young voice among Baltic pianists. He is a permanent guest artist with Kremerata Baltica, has been honored with Poland’s Cross of Merit and Latvia’s Grand Music Award, and entered an exclusive recording partnership with Deutsche Grammophon in 2025, releasing the album For Arvo (Pärt) later that year.
