Biography (read more)
Charles Aznavour (1924–2018) was a French-Armenian singer-songwriter and actor whose seven-decade career made him one of the most celebrated figures of French chanson. "La Bohème," written with lyricist Jacques Plante and first recorded by Aznavour in 1965, became his signature song, evoking a nostalgic, romanticized vision of bohemian artistic life in Montmartre.
Though composed as a popular chanson rather than for guitar, "La Bohème" has become a favorite for classical guitar transcription thanks to its lyrical melody.
