Anna Prohaska is an Austrian-British lyric soprano born in 1983 who studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and took part in the Académie Européenne de Musique in Aix-en-Provence and the Internationale Händelakademie Karlsruhe. She debuted in 2002 at Berlin’s Komische Oper in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw and became a permanent ensemble member of the Berlin State Opera under Daniel Barenboim in 2006.

Prohaska is known for a wide-ranging repertoire spanning early and contemporary music, having premiered works by composers such as Wolfgang Rihm and Jörg Widmann and collaborated regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic since 2007. Her recordings, including ‘Serpent & Fire’ (winner of an International Classical Music Award) and ‘Enchanted Forest’, have established her as a distinctive interpreter of Baroque and modern vocal repertoire.
