Biography (read more)

Thibaut Garcia (born 26 May 1994 in Toulouse, France) is a French classical guitarist of Spanish descent who began playing the guitar at age seven. In 2015 he won first prize at the Guitar Foundation of America competition and signed an exclusive recording contract with Erato/Warner Classics the following year.

Garcia’s recordings, including Leyendas (2016), Bach Inspirations (2018), and Aranjuez (2020), have brought the classical guitar to a wide international audience and helped popularize repertoire ranging from Spanish and Latin American composers to Bach transcriptions. His 2021 album À sa guitare, a collaboration with countertenor Philippe Jaroussky, further broadened the guitar’s crossover appeal, and he continues to record and tour as one of the leading classical guitarists of his generation.
