Eric Lu (born 15 December 1997 in Massachusetts) is an American pianist. He first came to wide international attention at age seventeen, placing fourth at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw as one of its youngest-ever laureates, and three years later won first prize at the 2018 Leeds International Piano Competition, becoming the first American to take that title since Murray Perahia. In 2025 he returned to Warsaw and won the top prize and gold medal at the XIX International Chopin Piano Competition, making him, alongside Radu Lupu, one of only two pianists to have won two of the world’s four most prestigious piano competitions.

Lu has emerged as one of the leading pianists of his generation, praised for a poetic, unforced lyricism especially suited to Chopin, Schubert, and Schumann, and performs regularly with major orchestras and in recital worldwide. His back-to-back triumphs in Leeds and Warsaw have placed him among a small handful of pianists to have won multiple major international competitions, and he continues to build an international recording and touring career centred on the core Romantic repertoire.
