Daria Hovora was a French pianist born in Überlingen who trained at the Paris Conservatory, earning first prizes in piano and professional chamber music under Joseph Calvet, with further study under György Sebök, Georges Solchany and Menahem Pressler. She built an international career as a chamber musician, performing with artists such as Mischa Maisky, Pierre Amoyal and Ivry Gitlis, and taught chamber music at the Paris Conservatory. She died in Le Mans in 2017.

Hovora won the 1971 Montreal International Piano Competition and received the best-accompaniment prize at the 1974 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. She premiered works by Olivier Greif and Edison Denisov and left an extensive discography, particularly of cello sonatas and French art song, cementing her reputation as a sought-after collaborative pianist.
