Nikita Arnoldovich Koshkin (born 28 February 1956) is a Russian classical guitarist and composer, born in Moscow. He received his first guitar from his grandfather and studied at the Moscow College of Music under Georgi Emanov and later at the Gnessin Institute under Alexander Frauchi, with composition taught by Victor Egorov. His early musical influences included Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, and rock music.

Koshkin first came to prominence with his suite “The Prince’s Toys” (1980), and his best-known work, “Usher-Waltz” (1984), was made famous internationally through John Williams’s recording on the Seville Concert CD (1993). His large output for solo guitar, guitar duo, and guitar quartet, including works written for the Assad Duo and other leading ensembles, has made him one of the most performed living composers for the instrument.
