Biography (read more)

Scorpions are a German hard rock band formed in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Long fronted by singer Klaus Meine, they became one of the most successful rock acts to emerge from continental Europe, with albums such as “Lovedrive” (1979) and “Love at First Sting” (1984) yielding hits including “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and “Still Loving You.” Their 1990 power ballad “Wind of Change,” from the album “Crazy World,” became an anthem associated with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War.

Scorpions have sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide, making them among the best-selling hard rock and heavy metal bands of all time, and “Wind of Change” remains one of the best-selling singles in history and a symbol of political change in Eastern Europe.
