Patricia Petibon (b. 1970, Montargis, France) initially pursued visual art and earned a musicology degree before studying voice at the Paris Conservatoire under Rachel Yakar, graduating with first prize in 1995. She made her stage debut in 1996 in Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie and became closely associated with the early-music ensemble Les Arts Florissants and conductor William Christie. She has sung major roles including Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (Paris Opera, 2012), Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro (Aix-en-Provence Festival), and the title role in Alcina, and has recorded extensively for Deutsche Grammophon, Erato, and Sony Classical. She was named Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2021.

Petibon is celebrated as one of the leading interpreters of Baroque and French repertoire of her generation, twice named Best Opera Singer at France’s Victoires de la Musique Classique.
