Chinese fingerstyle guitarist and composer, born 1990 in Dunhua, Jilin Province, who gained internet fame at 18 with his composition “Sunflower,” now a widely taught fingerstyle guitar piece. He released his debut album Sunflower in 2016 and later composed music for the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympic Games.

Paddy Sun is credited with helping spark a fingerstyle guitar boom in China and influencing the genre’s popularity in Vietnam and elsewhere in Asia.
