Biography (read more)
Lucienne Renaudin Vary is a French trumpeter born 28 January 1999 in Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire, who enrolled at the Conservatory of Le Mans in 2007 to study classical trumpet with Philippe Lafitte. She won first prize at the Selmer-Le Parnasse competition in January 2010 and, at just eleven years old, took third prize in the 14-17 category at the Concours Européen des Jeunes Trompettistes in Alençon later that year.
Renaudin Vary won a Victoire de la Musique Classique in 2016 in the Instrumental Soloist Revelation category and signed to Warner Classics the same year, releasing her acclaimed solo debut The Voice of the Trumpet in 2017 and several further albums since. Moving fluidly between classical and jazz idioms, including tango repertoire by Astor Piazzolla, she has helped raise the profile of the trumpet as a solo classical instrument.
