Lily Maisky was born July 28, 1987, in Paris, the daughter of renowned cellist Mischa Maisky. She began piano at age four under Lyl Tiempo, later studying with Hagit Kerbel, Olga Mogilevsky, Valeria Szervansky, Ilana Davids, and Alan Weiss, and attended the Purcell School of Music from 2001-2004, where she also studied jazz piano.
Maisky has performed extensively across Europe and the Far East at festivals including the Verbier Festival, Progetto Martha Argerich, and the International Kammermuziek Festival in Utrecht, and frequently performs in duo with her father. She has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon and EMI, and is known for both her chamber music and solo piano performances, including Bach arrangements such as the Concerto in D minor, BWV 974.
