Leonora Spangenberger is a German classical guitarist and child prodigy. She discovered the guitar around age six after a family friend taught her and her older sister Spanish songs, and became a student of Stefan Schmidt. The recordings featured here were made when she was just 11 years old. By age 13 she had already performed the complete set of 12 etudes by Heitor Villa-Lobos.

Spangenberger took first place in the Junior Division of the Guitar Foundation of America’s International Youth Competition, placed second at the Rago International Competition in Stuttgart, Germany, and shared the top prize at the International Competition for Young Guitarists Andrés Segovia in Velbert, Germany.
