Leonhard Baumgartner was born in 2007 in Vienna, Austria, and studies violin with Dora Schwarzberg at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, having also studied with Regina Brandstätter in Munich since 2019 and Ingolf Turban since 2022. He performs on a J.B. Vuillaume violin (Paris, 1854) provided through the Stretton Society.

Baumgartner won first prize at the 2022 Zhuhai International Mozart Competition, the ICMA Discovery Award (2023), and was named London Young Musician of the Year 2023 in the violin category. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and signed with Intermusica/HarrisonParrott as a teenager, marking him as an emerging young solo violinist rather than an established international touring artist.
