John Mayer is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Bridgeport, Connecticut, who trained at Berklee College of Music before breaking through with the album Room for Squares (2001). He evolved from an acoustic pop singer-songwriter into an acclaimed blues-rock guitarist, with hits including ‘Your Body Is a Wonderland’ and ‘Daughters,’ both Grammy winners. Since 2015 he has also performed as guitarist and vocalist with Dead & Company, alongside surviving members of the Grateful Dead.

Mayer is widely regarded as one of the leading guitarists of his generation, ranked among Rolling Stone’s greatest guitarists, and his blend of pop songcraft with blues-rock musicianship has influenced a generation of singer-songwriters.
