Hoobastank is an American rock band formed in 1994 in Agoura Hills, California, featuring Doug Robb (vocals), Dan Estrin (guitar), Chris Hesse (drums), and Jesse Charland (bass). Initially blending funk metal and ska punk before settling into a post-grunge/alternative rock sound, the band achieved its breakthrough with “The Reason” (2003), which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Modern Rock chart.

Hoobastank has sold roughly ten million albums worldwide and earned a Grammy nomination, with “The Reason” becoming an emblematic hit of early-2000s post-grunge rock radio.
