Harriet Krijgh was born in the Netherlands in 1991 and began cello at age five, studying at the Utrecht Conservatory before relocating to Vienna in 2004 to study with Lilia Schulz-Bayrova and Jontscho Bayrov. From 2013 she was a ‘Young Soloist’ at the Kronberg Academy under Frans Helmerson, and in 2019 she joined the Artemis Quartet, replacing founding member Eckart Runge.

Krijgh won first prize at the Princess Christina Concours (2008) and the Cello Biennale Amsterdam (2012, also winning the audience award), and holds exclusive recording contracts with Capriccio and, since 2018, Deutsche Grammophon. She performs internationally at venues such as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Vienna Konzerthaus on a 1723 Domenico Montagnana cello on loan to her, and is recognized as one of the leading cellists of her generation.
