Gary Moore was a Northern Irish guitarist, singer, and songwriter known for his virtuosic playing across blues, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and jazz fusion. He played with Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, and Colosseum II before establishing a prolific solo career, scoring his best-known hit with the instrumental “Parisienne Walkways” (1979) and reviving his career commercially with the blues album “Still Got the Blues” (1990). He was celebrated for owning and playing the famous 1959 Gibson Les Paul nicknamed “Greeny.”

Regarded as one of the great Irish guitarists, Moore influenced later blues-rock players such as Kirk Hammett and Joe Bonamassa and is frequently ranked among the greatest guitarists of his era.
