Very little about Frédérique Peters has been documented. She was born in 1938 and died in Paris in 1962, at the age of twenty-three. The one reference page consulted lists her nationality only tentatively as Belgian, and names Pierre Barbizet as her teacher, both marked with a question mark; it records no exact birth or death dates.

No concert programmes and no commercial recordings are catalogued under her name. Three non-commercial recordings survive from around 1960 in Paris, of works by Beethoven, Chopin and Fauré, including material issued on the Pathé LP DTX 318 and a radio broadcast from the École Normale de Musique in Paris on 20 February 1960.

Peters died before a career could take shape, and her place in the record is confined to a small group of surviving recordings made in Paris around 1960, covering Beethoven, Chopin and Fauré. There is no documented body of concert appearances, no established repertoire beyond those recordings, and no traceable influence on other players. What she is known for is the recorded evidence itself, preserved and later reissued after her death rather than during a working life.
