Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in 1979 in Upplands Väsby, led by vocalist Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum. The band achieved international stardom with their 1986 album ‘The Final Countdown,’ whose title track became a global hit, before disbanding in 1992 and reuniting permanently in 2003.

Europe’s ‘The Final Countdown’ became a defining anthem of 1980s arena rock and sold 10 million albums worldwide, establishing the band as one of Sweden’s most successful musical exports.
