Eric Patrick Clapton is an English rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter born in Ripley, Surrey, who first gained prominence through The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, and Derek and the Dominos before establishing a long solo career from the 1970s onward.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in rock history and ranked second on Rolling Stone’s list of greatest guitarists, Clapton has sold over 100 million records, won 18 Grammy Awards, and is uniquely a three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
