Biography (read more)
Elsa Dreisig (born 1991 in Paris) is a French-Danish operatic soprano, the daughter of Danish opera singer Inge Dreisig and French singer-conductor Gilles Ramade. She studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig before joining the opera studio of Berlin’s Staatsoper Unter den Linden from 2015 to 2017, which led to a permanent engagement under Daniel Barenboim.
Dreisig won first prize at the 2016 Operalia competition founded by Plácido Domingo and was named Opernwelt’s newcomer of the year, establishing herself in lyric soprano roles by Mozart and Bizet as well as Baroque repertoire by Rameau. Her solo albums Miroir(s) (2018) and Morgen (2020) for Warner Classics/Erato showcased her versatility across French and German vocal repertoire, and she has since appeared at the Salzburg Festival, the Royal Opera House, and the Paris Opera in an increasingly wide-ranging international career.
