Eleonora Buratto was born in 1982 in Mantua, Italy, and trained at the city’s Conservatorio Lucio Campiani. Her career gained momentum with performances such as Nanetta in Verdi’s Falstaff under Zubin Mehta at the 2013 Salzburg Festival, and she made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2016 as Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale to positive reviews.

Buratto has become an established lyric soprano on major international stages, with notable appearances including Ariadne auf Naxos and I due Figaro, and a 2025 solo album, Indomita, on PENTATONE. She has been recognized with the Marcella Pobbe International Opera Award, underscoring her standing among leading contemporary Italian sopranos.
