Chris Brown, born Christopher Maurice Brown in Tappahannock, Virginia, is an American singer, songwriter, and dancer who signed to Jive Records in 2004 and debuted with “Run It!” in 2005, becoming the first male artist since 1995 to open at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Working across R&B, pop, and hip-hop, he has released 12 studio albums and sold over 140 million records worldwide.

A Grammy Award winner (Best R&B Album, 2012), Brown is the first R&B singer to chart more than 50 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and has charted on the Hot 100 for 20 consecutive years.
