Borbála Seres received her basic musical training in Budapest under Prof. József Papp and continued her studies at the Leo Weiner Conservatory from 1999 to 2004. In 2011 she graduated with honours from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the class of Prof. Alvaro Pierri and Prof. Ahmed Noor Baluch. She has since performed solo concerts in Hungary and at international festivals in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Spain, alongside research on guitar methodology.
A prize-winner in nearly every international competition she has entered, Seres has taken first prize at the 12th International Biennial Guitar Competition in Kutná Hora, the Forum Gitarre Wien (2012), and the World Guitar Competition in Serbia (2010), among other placings in Rust, Split, Belgrade, Petrer, and Coria. Critics have praised her virtuosity and clear musical ideas, particularly in the music of Giuliani.
