Schaghajegh Nosrati was born in 1989 in Bochum, Germany, and became internationally recognized after winning the 2014 Leipzig Bach Competition. She has studied closely with Sir András Schiff, who praised her interpretive clarity and maturity in Bach, and has served as his assistant at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin since 2020.

Nosrati has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall, and the Elbphilharmonie, and toured China in 2017 and Europe with András Schiff performing Bach’s two-piano concertos in 2018. Her 2022 recording of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1, won the German Record Critics’ Prize, an honor repeated in 2025 for her chamber album Morgenwind with the Joolaee Trio she founded; she has also recorded Alkan, Haydn, and Rubinstein.
