Hanna-Elisabeth Müller was born in Germany in 1985 and trained in the soloist class of Rudolf Piernay at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim, having begun vocal instruction at age 11. She made her stage debut in 2010 as Euridice in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice and was a member of the Bavarian State Opera ensemble from 2012 to 2016.

Müller made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2017 as Marzelline in Fidelio and her La Scala debut the same year as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and has appeared at the Salzburg Festival and Salzburg Easter Festival. She was named Opernwelt’s ‘Nachwuchskünstlerin des Jahres’ (Newcomer of the Year) in 2014 and signed an exclusive recording contract with Pentatone in 2019, and continues to perform regularly at major European opera houses and concert halls.
