Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1994, originally known as Kara’s Flowers before rebranding in 2001. Fronted by singer-guitarist Adam Levine, the band’s lineup has also included Jesse Carmichael, James Valentine, Matt Flynn, PJ Morton, and Sam Farrar. They broke through with the multi-platinum debut Songs About Jane (2002) and evolved from indie/alt-rock roots into a dance-pop and funk-influenced mainstream act.

Maroon 5 has sold over 135 million records worldwide and won three Grammy Awards, becoming one of the best-selling and most commercially dominant pop acts of the 2000s and 2010s with hits like “This Love,” “Moves Like Jagger,” and “Sugar.”
