Biography (read more)

Andy McKee is an American fingerstyle acoustic guitarist and composer from Topeka, Kansas, celebrated for percussive, technically intricate original compositions using alternate tunings and two-handed tapping techniques. His self-uploaded videos, including “Drifting” and “Rylynn,” went viral in the mid-2000s and helped popularize fingerstyle guitar to mainstream online audiences well before viral video culture was commonplace.

McKee is considered one of the pioneering figures who brought contemporary fingerstyle guitar composition to global prominence via the internet, and his pieces are widely performed and covered by guitarists (including classical guitarists) worldwide.
