Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in 1996 in Agoura Hills, California, by Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson. Blending nu metal, alternative rock, hip-hop, and electronica, the band broke through with the diamond-certified debut album “Hybrid Theory” (2000), followed by “Meteora” (2003) and the genre-shifting “Minutes to Midnight” (2007). Frontman Chester Bennington died in 2017, leading to a seven-year hiatus before the band reformed in 2024 with new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, releasing “From Zero” that year.

With over 100 million records sold worldwide, Linkin Park is one of the best-selling music acts of the 2000s and a defining act of the nu metal/rap-rock crossover era.
