BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan, also known as the Bangtan Boys) is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment in Seoul, debuting in June 2013. The members — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook — are known for co-writing and co-producing much of their catalogue, which spans K-pop, hip-hop, R&B, and pop. They became the first Korean act to top the US Billboard 200 (2018) and the Billboard Hot 100 (“Dynamite,” 2020).

BTS are widely credited with driving the global mainstreaming of K-pop, becoming the best-selling artist in South Korean history and UNICEF-partnered youth advocates who addressed the UN General Assembly.
