Stevie Wonder (born Stevland Hardaway Judkins/Morris) is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who signed to Motown’s Tamla label at age 11 and has performed professionally since 1961. Blind since infancy, he mastered keyboards, harmonica, drums, and early synthesizers, and became the youngest artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 with “Fingertips” at age 13. His “classic period” (1972–1976) produced a run of albums that redefined R&B through synthesizer-driven production and conceptual songwriting.

Wonder is one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, credited with transforming R&B into an album-oriented art form; he has won 25 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and was the first Black artist to win the Grammy for Album of the Year three times.
